Meet our newest Trainer at Wheatland Morgans:

My love of horses and desire to fulfill my dream of working with horses has aspired me to graduate from Al-Marah Arabian horses with a certification of completion of apprenticeship for Horse Training (a two-year apprenticeship).  My name is Heather Musick and 2010 is my first year as a private trainer.

Not only did I work on my associate degree with Pima Community College while doing the apprenticeship at Al-Marah, I currently am enrolled at Lewis Clark State College.  My future plan is to graduate from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Animal Science.

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to grow-up with horses.  I did eight years of horse 4-H with Connie Ham and the Wheatland Gallopers 4-H group.  I was also a member of the Palouse Hills Pony Club for four years.  I love to breed, train and show my own  Morgan horses.  My new prospect horses include a four year old, Melody: a two year old, Zoom Zoom: and my beautiful Two year old stud, Chip. I am also training two mares for Connie Ham, Toby and Jacklin.

I am qualified to start in many different disciplines.  I do a lot of on the ground training until the horse tells me that it is ready for me to get on.  I prefer to let the horses guide me in what discipline they want to learn and how fast they want to be taught.  I believe that not all horses are read to be broke at a set age and that they have to mature enough to have the capability to want to learn.

Heather can be contacted at  208-310-1537 or squerl_bate2009@yahoo.com
